BILL Clinton was discharged from the hospital on October 17, 2021, after having been struck down by sepsis.

Dr. Alpesh N. Amin the Executive Director at UC Irvine Health made a statement saying that Bill Clinton has been released and will return to his home in New York.

In October 2021, Bill Clinton, 75, received treatment in the ICU department of the University of California Irvine Medical Center for an "infection."

He was admitted on October 12, 2021. He was discharged on Sunday, October 17, 2021.

According to his spokesperson on October 16, 2021, "President Clinton has made excellent progress in the last 24 hours."

"He will remain at UC Irvine Medical Center overnight to continue to receive IV antibiotics before an expected discharge tomorrow."

His spokesperson said in a statement: "On Tuesday evening, President Clinton admitted to UCI Medical Center to receive treatment for non-Covid-related infection.

"He is on the mend, in good spirits, and is incredibly thankful to the doctors, nurses, and staff providing him with excellent care."

"He was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids," according to a joint statement released by Dr Alpesh Amin, chair of medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center, and Dr Lisa Bardack, Clinton's personal primary physician.

"He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring."

The former Commander-in-Chief fell ill on Tuesday when he was in southern California for a Clinton Foundation-related event, CNN medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta said on Chris Cuomo's Primetime show after speaking with Clinton's doctors and staff. 

"What they think is going on with the former president now is a blood infection, sometimes known as sepsis," Gupta said.

Wife and former Secretary of State Hillary, 73, was with him in California for the event. She has not commented on his hospitalization.

Clinton reportedly developed a urinary tract infection that developed into urosepsis – a type of sepsis.

Clinton previously joined former President Barack Obama, former first ladies Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden at the memorial event at Ground Zero on Saturday, September 11.

Producer Ryan Murphy created a series based on Clinton's impeachment and affair with Monica Lewinsky, who is also serving as a producer.

The 10-part series premiered on September 7, 2021, at 10pm on FX.

The drama centers around his affair and scandal with Lewinsky during the 1990s, with her recounting the events of their relationship.
