His death was announced on social media today by fellow Mi-Soul DJ Gordon Mac, who called him a "superstar".
He wrote: "Myself and Mi-Soul are very sad to announce that our friend and colleague Paul has passed away.
"Paul was with Mi-Soul from Day One and not only contributed to our output with his brilliant Saturday night mix but he was a superstar at all our live events.
"At this time, there are no further details regarding Paul's death. Our thoughts go out to Paul's nearest and dearest. He will be sorely missed."
A statement on Paul's Facebook page added: "It’s with a really heavy heart that we have to post the news of our dear Brother, Father and Grandfather passing.
"He died peacefully this morning and not before he played every track on the Album of his Life.
"Each of you will have your own favourite track that evokes its own special memory of Paul. As do we as a family.
"One thing for sure there is now no longer anymore trouble for Paul to live through, but Paul Trouble Anderson will always live in us.
"Thank you for your Love, Prayers and Support. Every time you filled the dancefloors to his Boogie you filled his heart with Joy."
Paul was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2011 but was in remission for six years after undergoing surgery.
But sadly the cancer returned this summer and a crowdfunding page was set up before his death to raise money for treatment.
The page said: "We all know it will take months until Paul is able to return to his previous form, but it is his full intention and our greatest wish that he gets back to doing what he loves doing best.
"With the support of his family, friends and community we can do this. It’s our chance to give something back to this very special man who has given us so much."
