A man says he was burned by a small nuclear reactor inside the garage of an Ohio home Thursday night, leading to an evacuation of the immediate area, a report said.
The bomb squad, firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to the scene at a cul-de-sac in Dublin — a suburb of Columbus, according to The Columbus Dispatch.
Authorities are investigating the man’s claim. But they said they don’t believe the man harbored any malicious intent.
“We have no reason to believe that he was trying to make anything that would do anyone any harm,” Steve Martin, a rep for the Columbus Division of Fire, told the paper.
Emergency crew on scene were examining his reported burns, the report said.
