A man jumped to his death from a third-floor window early Monday morning, likely while trying to escape violent flames that erupted inside his apartment building in Brooklyn, according to sources and police.

The two-alarm blaze tore through the three-story building on Nostrand Avenue near Clarendon Road in East Flatbush just after 4 a.m., police said.

The man who jumped was taken to King County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.

Seven others were injured, including a police officer, police added. They were treated at area hospitals for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
