The case of a woman found dead on her bathroom floor in Harlem last week has been ruled a homicide, cops said Tuesday.
Police responded to an apartment on the grounds of NYCHA’s St. Nicholas Houses on Frederick Douglass Boulevard near West 129th Street around 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 after someone called to report a foul odor, authorities said.
Officers found Jessica Mitcham, 35, lying on the bathroom floor with trauma to her chest and neck, cops said.
Blood was splattered on the floor and walls, police sources said.
It appeared she had been dead for some time, though that exact period was unclear.
The incident has been ruled a homicide by the city medical examiner’s office.
No one has been arrested, and the circumstances were unknown by Tuesday afternoon.
