BRITAIN'S best fish and chip shop has been crowned – and it includes an incredible menu of lobster, fine wines and oysters.
The Cod's Scallops in Wollaton, Nottingham, scooped the top prize at the annual National Fish & Chip Awards.
The delicious eatery is owned by husband and wife John and Helen Molnar and boasts a range of shellfish and pies, while also offering punters barista-style coffees and seaside-inspired cocktails.
Its website proudly declares: "Our fish is so fresh, tomorrow's tea is still in the sea!"

The Cod's offers a wide selection of fish and shellfish, all of which are caught from their very own boats.
They also serve sustainable crab, cockles, and lobster.

Shap Chippy, Penrith, Cumbria
Cumbria's Shap Chippy offers locally-sourced ingredients, and staff arrive at 6am to start peeling the potatoes for chips.
The shop has firmly cemented itself as the favourite fish and chip takeaway in the North West.
A large cod costs £6.50 and can be served poached or lightly battered.
Fish and Chips @ Weston Grove, Cheshire
A statement on their site today reads: "We have accomplished so much in the last year it has been amazing! We want to thank everyone for supporting us, sending us messages of good luck and most importantly our amazing team".
This fish and chip shop prides itself in not using plastic straws and cutlery, and have asked customers to reuse their paper bags.
The Weston Grove meal deal comes with Cod or Haddock, chip, plus a side of mushy peas and a drink for just £7.20.
Fish City – Belfast
Fish city has already won a slew of awards – including Regional Fish and Chip Shop of the Year in 2015.
It was set up as a family business in 2013 and only offers sustainable seafood.
A large fish and chips on the evening menu costs £16.95.
Diners can also delve into oysters or fish tacos.
Trenchers Restaurant – Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear
Trenchers was established in 1980, and offers Christmas dinners – as well as steak.
Cod here will cost £22 and is served with Pomme Anna, Baby Gem, Fish Cream.
Something Else Fishy – Sherborne, Dorset
Martyn and Nicki Else were fishmongers for ten years before deciding to open a restaurant instead.
Aside from classic fish and chip shop fare, they offer lobster, mussels, and 'drunken prawns' – king prawns cooked in Jack Daniels.
A large cod and chips will cost £12.95.
Frydales – Leicester
Frydales is owned and run by young Charlie Collins – still in his early 20s.
The chippie prides itself in serving up 100 per cent Marine Stewardship Council certified cod and haddock.
Sutton and Sons – Stoke Newington, London
Sutton and Sons won the Best Multiple Operator award in the year's competition.
The Stoke Newington base eatery prides itself on being the best family-run chip shop in London.
Mary Lambert Artisan Bakery – Hartlepool
This bakery with a twist successfully achieved the Best Foodservice Operator Award.
The bakery, which has more than 58 years of craft in the bakehouse, specialises in savoury mince pies, chia rolls and Florentines.
But another string to its bow is its fish and chip offerings that saw it awarded Fish Shop of the Year in 2016 and 2018.
Penaluna's Famous Fish & Chips – Hirwaun, South Wales
The eaterie has successfully bagged four stars on popular review site TripAdvisor.
Penaluna's boasts the motto: "Bringing a taste of the ocean to the Brecon Beacons".
A large cod to takeaway will only cost £5.60 and Penaluna's mobile catering unit can even be hired to attend big events.
The Real Food Cafe – Tyndrum, Crianlarich
The fish and chip shop, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary, has a keen focus on making a difference to the community.
They offer a Fish Tea Deal which includes a large fish and chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce, white roll or brown bread and a cup of tea or coffee all for £13.75.
Lonely Planet Guide gave a recent review of the eaterie that read: 'Hungry hill walkers throng the tables in this justifiably popular cafe.
Lewis's Fish and Grill – Maidstone, Kent
The Best Newcomer Award was handed to Lewis's Fish & Grill in Maidstone, Kent.
The family-owned eaterie is run and managed by brothers Gavin and Craig Lewis.
Their website boasts: "We use sustainably sourced, hook and line caught fish where possible.
"We believe that it is important to look after our seas and oceans for future generations."
A large cod here would only set you back £5.90.
The Wetherby Whaler – Yorkshire
The chippie calls itself the "finest fish and chip restaurant and take away" in Wetherby, York, Guiseley, Wakefield and Pudsey in Yorkshire.
It's family owned chain of fish and chip restaurants and takeaways.
The business was founded by Phillip and Janine Murphy in Tadcaster in 1969.
