Shahs of Sunset never stops providing drama, even when fans are stuck waiting for the next season. Reza Farahan and Mercedes Javid have been going through some wild drama lately, hinging upon threats and vandalism from Javid’s husband, if Farahan is to be believed. Despite that, fans are still hungry for the next season.
In fact, according to Reza Farahan, Season 8 is going to be utterly wild, so fans have every right to look forward to it. For those who are desperate to see more Shash of Sunset drama unfold on their television screen, there may be good news on the horizon.
Are there any cast changes?
Fans of Shahs of Sunset will acknowledge that the cast as it stands today is pretty different from the cast of Season 1. When the show first premiered, it starred Reza Farahan, Golnesa Gharachedaghi, Sammy Younai, Asa Soltan Rahmati, Mike Shouhed, and Mercedes Javid. Younai and Rahmati have both left the show — Younai after Season 1, Rahmati after Season 6.
The current cast features Golnesa Gharachedaghi, Mercedes Javid, Mike Shouhed, Reza Farahan, Destiney Rose, and Nema Vand. Without any major changes between Season 7 and Season 8, it looks like fans can go into the newest season without any mysterious new faces.
However, there have been changes in relationships. Those who watch Shahs of Sunset know that Reza Farahan and Mercedes Javid have experienced plenty of ups and downs during their friendship. It’s been a rocky relationship to say the very least. Now, it seems as if things may have come to an unfortunate head between the two.
While Farahan and Javid have historically been able to pull their friendship back from the brink of total failure, Farahan suggests Javid may have gone too far this time. In fact, Farahan now has an active restraining order against Javid’s husband.
“At 2:18 p.m. on 5/19 he called and threatened my life by phone and at 2:34 p.m. he vandalized our home,” Farahan claimed in court documents obtained by The Blast.
Farahan later told People that he doesn’t see his friendship with Mercedes Javid rekindling itself in the future. Farahan explained, “I can never be friends with her again, because first she sent her little minion to come do her dirty work, then, in my opinion she sent her husband to come vandalize my property and threaten my life.”
What can ‘Shahs of Sunset’ fans expect from Season 8?
In case it wasn’t already apparent, it seems Shahs of Sunset Season 8 is going to be a wild ride. With threats, vandalism, and a restraining order in the cards, it sounds like a thrilling season is in the works. And Reza Farahan backs that up.
“It’s not the juiciest season yet, I think it’s going to be the juiciest season of any show on Bravo ever. Period. It’s insanity!” Farahan told Life & Style during an interview.
According to Farahan, the summer has been absolutely bizarre and thrilling and exhausting, and it’s all been caught on film. He adds, “Oh my God. Literally, this was the hardest summer of my entire life. There were so many fires and explosions. I cried, screamed, I literally — lunatic status. It was insanity and I don’t ever want to go through it again, but it’s been memorialized, I understand, on film.”
Farahan says Season 8 of Shahs of Sunset will be nostalgic for some viewers, like a dialed-up version of the early seasons of the show.

While the official release date has yet to be announced, there is reason to believe the new season will premiere soon. Season 7 premiered on August 2, 2018, and wrapped in November. Based on what Reza Farahan said, filming occurred over the summer.
Assuming the team needs a couple of months for editing and the rest of what comes along after filming, it may be reasonable to assume fans can expect a premiere in November or December of 2019.
