Vikings fans will remember the violent death of Freydis in season five at the hands of a war driven Ivar the Boneless (played by Alex Høgh Andersen). However, Freydis star Alicia Agneson stunned fans after she remerged as Prince Oleg’s (Danila Kozlovsky) new wife, Princess Katya. Now it seems the actress’ return could signify that Freydis has been resurrected as Katya – here’s how.
It was recently revealed that the ninth episode of the History channel show will be titled Resurrection.
Many fans speculate this is a clue an old favourite will rise from the dead.
Now, one fan speculates it’d Freydis who was resurrected, now appearing as Katya.
The Reddit user began: “I checked wiki and Episode 9 title is resurrection. Maybe Katia is actually Freydis resurrected.
- Vikings season 6: How did Lagertha die? Who killed Lagertha?
“The wife shrine Oleg shows Ivar is actually her resurrection.
“He sees himself as prophet. And Ivar sees himself as god.
“Maybe Oleg sent Freydis to spy on Ivar to see who this newly proclaimed God is, she betrayed Oleg and fell in love with Ivar, married him.”
Is Oleg using Katya as revenge on Ivar for killing Freydis?
“The story he tells Ivar of him killing her because she betrayed him is eerily similar to Ivar killing Freydis.
“And this is how he knows all about Ivar, his wife, their kid etc.”
Is Ivar in deeper trouble than first thought?
However, many fans thought the theory was a little far fetched, with one fan noting: “If they do that, it would mean a level of involvement of the gods/supernatural elements that surpasses anything that we’ve seen on the show so far, and would break the show’s internal rules.”

Will season six delve into the supernatural?
Another fan agreed, adding: “It’s rather unlikely to happen unless they involve magic. So far there have been supernatural elements on the show but nothing to the extent of resurrection.”
Meanwhile, other fans are threatening to boycott the show after the death of fan-favourite Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) at the hands of the drugged up Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø).
The scene left viewers emotional to say the least, as they took to Twitter to voice their grievances.
