Tina Malone loses 13lb in one week after stress of £10k fine for sharing alleged John Venables post

TINA Malone revealed she's lost a staggering 13lbs in just one week after the stress of her recent court appearance for allegedly sharing a picture of child killer John Venables.

The 56-year-old actress avoided jail last month but admitted the ordeal had "destroyed" her during an appearance on This Morning.

Now Tina has revealed she's dropped nearly a stone in a tweet thanking a gastric band company.

She replied to the post about Easter eggs: "Nikki my nurse you weighed me today and iv lost 13lb in a week thanks for gtg me back on track xx."

Tina previously lost a whopping 12 stone because of her band, shrinking to a size 6, before having excess skin removed in spring 2017.

Meanwhile, the Venables case also hit Tina hard financially.

She broke down in tears on TV as she admitted she couldn't afford to take her kids to Disneyland Paris after sharing the alleged picture on social media.

The Shameless actress spoke to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about her error after being slapped with a £10,000 fine and an eight-month suspended sentence.

She explained that she had no idea how to use social media or computers when she posted an apparent picture of James Bulger's killer on Facebook.

Tina sobbed as she told the hosts: "I have never on my father's grave sent an email, I don't know what 'copy and post' is. I truly don't know what all that is.

"I'm a technophobe. I have a pad and a pen to write. This has destroyed me."

Asked if she can pay the money back, she erupted into tears again and said: "I'm terrified, I've got to pay it back, it just means I've got to go home and tell the five year old that you can't go to Euro Disney … I feel like I've let me mum down and me husband, but it was my fault though. I'm not feeling sorry for myself."

The star confessed to breaching an injunction protecting the identity of James Bulger's killer in February 2018 and avoided jail despite admitting the crime, which she blamed on the stress of her panto cocaine arrest last year.

She admitted to Holly and Phil that last year had been tough and her priest had to give the family a cash handout.

Tina, who nabbed a role in Channel 5's upcoming murder mystery Clink, said: "I'm a devout Catholic. I would never incite violence. At Christmas, my priest, Father Bernard came round to give us some money, to help us through Christmas.

"We were going through a really difficult time. My daughter was five in December, I promised we'd take her to Euro Disney this June. For the third year running we couldn't have a birthday party for her, even on her fifth birthday.

"I'd be lucky to even go Disney shop and buy a Belle or Rapunzel.

"I'm not going to comment on anything anymore, I'm not going to like any kittens or frog photos, I only ever went on Facebook and Twitter because someone was pretending to be me."

The Sun revealed Tina told the court she had been left suicidal in 2017 after police found cocaine in her handbag while she starred as the wicked fairy godmother in the Sleeping Beauty panto in Barrow-in-Furness at Christmas.
