The 48-year-old is nicknamed 'The Dark Destroyer' on the ITV quiz show, hosted by Bradley Walsh.
The programme has won a number of National Television Awards due to its popularity with viewers, but anyone wishing to 'come and have a go if you think you're clever enough' will have a long wait.
During an Air New Zealand flight between Wellington and Queenstown, Shaun got up and hosted a quiz for his fellow passengers.
In a video posted on Facebook group Believe It Or Not Quiz Events, Shaun was seen taking over the air stewardess' tannoy before asking five questions connected to their country.
He then shared a number of secrets of the show, with the biggest surprise being how long it can take a wannabe contestant to get in one of the four seats available.
Shaun explained the waiting list is currently three years, which gives chasees the time to swot up on as much knowledge as possible.
He also revealed how host Bradley, 58, genuinely has no idea which of the five Chasers are going to be appearing on each show, and they all arrive from different doors.
Shaun also claimed he was the only Chaser to meet and greet contestants after the show, and at the time the video was recorded, he said he was on an 18-episode winning streak, or 'just another day at the office' as he always puts it.
The star also revealed how he is on a pub quiz team with fellow Chaser Paul 'Sinnerman' Sinha in London.
However he claims they only win "50 per cent" of the time, which is rather hard to believe considering their breadth of knowledge on the ITV show.
Shaun is joined on the show by fellow Chasers Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Ann 'The Governess' Hegerty and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan.
Alongside Mark, Shaun has been on the show since it began in 2009, with Jenny being the most recent addition in 2015.
