Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood compares Anton DuBeke to Trump and says he'll be 'hard to remove' from judging panel

STRICTLY's Craig Revel Horwood joked Anton DuBeke is like Donald Trump – because he won't want to leave the judging panel when Motsi Mabuse returns.

The professional dancer covered for regular judge Motsi after she flew home to Germany following a break-in at her dance studio.

And Craig said his colleague was delighted with his replacement duties when chatting to ITV's Lorraine today.

He said: "It was like a three year-old coming in, sitting in his podium. He was loving himself sick, it was fantastic to see him sitting on the podium.

"I was absolutely delighted that finally he got the chance. Now I think he is going to be a little bit like Trump – difficult to remove."

Laughing, Lorraine Kelly joked Anton will be holding on to the podium for dear life and that they'll have to "rip his fingers away".

However, Strictly viewers demanded Anton is made a permanent judge as they praised his "funny and genuine" critique on the weekend.

The popular dancer proved a hit with viewers who are calling for him to be a permanent fixture on the panel.

Anton has been a regular face on the BBC One dance show for 16 years, having performed more than 120 original routines.

And asked by Tess Daly what kind of judge he will be, he said: "I'll endeavour to be much more generous that these two have been to me over the years, so we should have a lovely night."

As the evening progressed viewers flooded social media with comments begging bosses to offer the ballroom expert a permanent role on the panel.

One fan wrote: "Can we keep Anton as a permanent Judge please @bbcstrictly #Strictly#AntonDuBeke."

Another posted: "Just catching up on strictly Anton is a fantastic judge he needs to be a permanent on the panel! His critique of Ranvir was so kind and fair! Beautiful lady, kind gentleman #Strictly #AntonDuBeke."

Donald Trump famously refused to accept defeat when President-elect Joe Biden beat him in the US elections.

President Trump's campaign is set to seek a recount of votes in the swing state of Wisconsin hours before today's deadline.

Trump, who learned of his election loss while golfing, has allegedly holed up in the White House feeling cheated and fumed that he would not attend “phony president” Joe Biden’s inauguration.
