Oti has been a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing since 2015.
Although she hasn’t won the coveted Glitterball trophy as of yet, she came very close with actor Danny Mac.
Back in 2014, the pair wound up in second place while Ore Oduba won with Joanne Clifton.
Now, Danny has expressed his support for Oti saying he thinks she’d make a good judge on the BBC competition.
Today, Danny appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s ITV show where they spoke about the dancer.
“She’s got so much energy, she’s so fantastic to be around,” Danny shared with the host.
Lorraine then mused: “She’d be a good judge I think, do you not? She probably doesn’t want to yet, but at some point.”
Danny went on to say: “I agree. This is the thing, I got asked before and I thought it seems like the natural progression for her to be a judge and specifically on that show. I think she’d suit it massively.
“But then maybe I’m throwing her under the bus because she’s like ‘no I don’t want to stop dancing’ and everyone wants to see her dance.”
Oti has previously addressed the speculation on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 show where she insisted she would be dancing when the programme returned.
She shared: “You know, I love dancing. I love coming to rehearsals. I love being part of the group. I think it’s a really special group to be a part of.
“There are no dancers like Strictly dancers and how close we are. And I would absolutely miss that and that part of it.
“I’ll be dancing, honey. I’ll be dancing!”
Oti did step into a judging role for The Greatest Dancer where she worked alongside Cheryl and Matthew Morrison.
Other names tipped to replace Darcey include Karen Hardy, Anton du Beke, Nicole Scherzinger and Ashley Roberts.
Recently, Strictly pro AJ Pritchard sparked concern about his place on the programme when he opened up about landing a new job in a panto.
AJ announced he would star as Peter Pan in a pantomime at Dunstable’s Grove Theatre this winter leaving some fans worried he’d quit the dancing programme.
“YES I get to fly… Playing Peter Pan Super Excited… #Panto (16th December 2019 – 5th January) @GroveTheatre,” he posted to Twitter as fans asked about Strictly.
The popular dancer later went on to confirm to The Sun that he would be returning to Strictly Come Dancing and would join the panto six days late.
Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return to BBC One later this year.
