STE'S ordeal with the far-right gang finally came to a dramatic conclusion with a brutal death scene last week.
Fans were left shocked after Stuart fell to his death while trying to murder Ste in Hollyoaks last week – and left Ste free to finally escape the racist gang’s clutches.
What is Ste Hay’s exit storyline in Hollyoaks?
Viewers have been watching on in dismay as Ste has become caught up in Jonny Baxter and Stuart Summer’s racist web over the last few months.
And in the hour-long special episode last week, fans were left shocked as Ste’s recent efforts to escape the group came to an explosive head in clifftop scenes and his exit storyline finally became clear.
It all kicked off when Jonny encouraged Ste to do a runner and led the vulnerable character into a waiting taxi driven by Stuart.
Things worsened when Sami was also kidnapped and dragged into the episode’s clifftop climax as fascist Stuart vowed to end their lives.
However, in a shock twist Sid ran at Stuart to prevent him from pushing Ste over the edge.
But it didn’t go as planned and Sid shoved Stuart off the cliff and to a grisly death.
The misled teenager had directed Leela and Peri to Stuart, sick of his dad's aggression and knowing what Stuart had planned for Ste – but had never meant to murder his father.
Fans were stunned by the dramatic episode, but took to Twitter to express what a perfect exit storyline the soap has given to Ste.
One fan tweeted: “Amazing episode. Finally the racist storyline is over! Glad Sami and Ste are alive and I feel so sorry for Sid #Hollyoaks.”
Another fan said: “YASS OVER THE CLIFF AND SPLAT YA RACIST #hollyoaks #goodriddance.”
However, Ste is yet to say goodbye to the village and the final chapter of the far right storyline will come to a close tonight.
Fans will have to tune in to see how the emotional farewell will unfold.
Why is Kieron Richardson leaving Hollyoaks?
Kieron is bowing out of Hollyoaks after 13 years as he feels it’s time to try his hand at a couple of other projects.
During his stint on the soap, the talented actor was involved in some hard-hitting storylines including coming out as gay and suffering from domestic abuse.
But he is now quitting to explore pastures new.
What is Kieron doing next?
The actor has announced he has landed a role in the stage version of Kay Mellor’s crime drama, which will tour the UK in late 2019 and 2020.
The dad of two has also made clear on his Instagram that he’s taking part in Sleep Walk for Shelter ahead of leaving the soap – a 10km night walk through London to support the city’s homeless.
Kieron is one of many stars taking part in the charitable cause, including singer Rita Ora, Kieron’s Hollyoaks co-star Jorgie Porter and former United footballer Rio Ferdinand.
Will Kieron be coming back to Hollyoaks?
Hollyoaks fans needn’t panic – Kieron has announced that his exit it only temporary while he juggles his new project alongside Hollyoaks.
The dad-of-two is yet to confirm exactly when he’ll be back on our screens, but with Band of Gold’s tour ending in spring 2020 we can expect his much-loved character to return to the soap shortly after.
Speaking about his temporary exit from the show he said: “After nearly fourteen years, it is time for Ste to hang up his tracksuits, just for a little bit. It makes sense for the story because Ste has got to go and find himself, sort himself out and find forgiveness in himself for the stuff that he’s done.
“It just timed quite right that I was going to take a break from being so busy for the past 14 years.
"However now I am just as busy because I am taking part in a play which is called “Band of Gold” by Kay Mellor and it’s going on tour from November until March next year which is very super exciting."
He added: “We are going in to 2020 at the end of the tour, and we are also going in to the 25th anniversary of Hollyoaks which is something I am adamant I am going to be a part of.
"I love the Hollyoaks fans, I love the entire cast, everybody at Hollyoaks, and I can’t wait to get back.”
