Spoilers: Max exposes his affair with Linda to Mick in EastEnders at Christmas?

Max Branning (Jake Wood) betrays Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders, as he goes behind her back and drops a bombshell on Mick (Danny Dyer).

Linda has been feeling rejected by Mick, as he’s refused to open up about what’s on his mind.

Viewers will know that the former landlord of the Queen Vic recently discovered that he was abused while in care, and naturally he’s struggled to come to terms with this.

He subsequently pushed Linda away, and with Max offering support, Linda ultimately succumbed to temptation, and slept with him.

In Monday’s episode (December 21) Linda wakes at Max’s house, and she’s riddled with guilt over what transpired.

Max is eager to discuss matters, and he makes it clear that he doesn’t want to sneak about.

Linda, however, has other priorities. Feeling very guilty, she tries to read Mick’s mood. He appears disinterested, but it’s clear that he doesn’t want to address the elephant in the room.

Max later finds Linda in the Square and she informs him that Mick doesn’t care about her, and won’t even address her.

Little does she know, however, that Mick does care about her, as he watches her speaking to Max from the window of his flat, evidently heartbroken.

As the week progresses, Max is determined to start a new life with Linda, and therefore he makes her an offer, as he suggests that they should leave Walford for a while!

How will Linda react to such a suggestion?

As Christmas Eve arrives, Max ultimately takes matters into his own hands, and drops a huge bombshell on Mick.

The question is: just what exactly does he say?

What’s more, how will Linda react?

During the same episode, Linda tries to explain to Mick just how she’s been feeling, but he doesn’t respond. Therefore, she takes hold of a bottle of whiskey and taunts him with it.

She desperately wants him to fight for her. The question is: will he do so?

One to watch: Thursday December 24 on BBC One.
