Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) confirmed that she did, in fact, attack Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) in EastEnders (December 7), but he was alive when she left — suggesting that it wasn’t her who delivered the devastating blow which left him for dead.
Ian was left to die on the floor of the Queen Vic during Friday’s edition (December 4) of the BBC One soap.
As the landlord lay motionless on the floor, Tina was seen washing away blood over in No.1 Albert Square, and it soon became apparent that she had been attacked.
Viewers will know that — prior to Ian’s attack — Tina had a heated showdown with the Walford stalwart, before barging into his home.
With word of Ian’s attack having sent shockwaves through the Square, several residents were on tenterhooks.
Tina was horrified, and she confided in Shirley (Linda Henry) about what happened on the night in question — and how she had the cuts and bruises on her face.
She revealed that she hit Ian, and Ian then hit her.
‘I wasn’t going to stand for it,’ she said, ‘so I went for him, and he tripped and fell and hit the table.
‘He was like dazed when I left the house.’
Shirley was quick to note that this altercation took place in the house — not to mention the fact that Ian was alive when she departed — and therefore it proves that it wasn’t her who left Ian for dead.
EastEnders continues Tuesday December 8 at 7.35pm on BBC One.
