After the dramatic events of Tina’s funeral on EastEnders and its aftermath, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright)’s relationship with her family has been strained, to say the least.
With her relationship with Mick (Danny Dyer) now beyond all hope, and Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) apparently more than ready to take her place, Linda has found herself pushed out by the other Carters.
Her drunken, aggressive behaviour at the crematorium left daughter Nancy (Maddy Hill) absolutely devastated, and the broken relationship with her daughter was a particularly painful one for Linda.
Recently, Nancy has taken cautious steps to make peace with her mum after she found a photo of the family in Linda’s suitcase and realised how much she was missing her family.
Nancy’s efforts are set to be thrown back in her face in upcoming episodes. Linda says she wants to go to Jean’s engagement party at Ruby’s and asks Nancy to look after her little sister Annie. Nancy refuses, knowing that it’ll be too much temptation for Linda if she goes to the party and has easy access to booze.
Linda goes to the party anyway, and Nancy arrives later to find her mum is drunk.
By breaking Nancy’s trust, has Linda just managed to lose the one person who was on her side?
