Bridgerton has finally received the critical acclaim it so rightly deserves after scoring not one but two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
On Thursday, actors Lily Collins and Daveed Diggs announced the list of SAG nominees on Instagram Live and revealed that the hit Netflix drama had scored two nods—one for actor Regé-Jean Page, who plays the smoldering Duke of Hastings in the show, for Male Actor in a Drama Series, and the other for Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series.
The recognition came hours after the show was seemingly snubbed by the Golden Globes—amid controversy that Michaela Coel’s hit BBC Three drama I May Destroy You was pushed aside while Netflix’s Emily in Paris received two nominations—and has gone down a treat with Bridgerton fans who can’t get enough of the Regency romance narrative.
Following Page’s nomination announcement, his fans on Twitter expressed their glee that their favorite 2021 actor had finally received recognition from his contemporaries in Hollywood.
