KORBEN Niblett was among a host of wannabes looking for fame when he took part in Pop Idol way back in 2002.
Now 20 years later Korben – real name Chris – is unrecognisable after ditching his quest for stardom for a job in the beauty industry.
Before appearing on the talent show, Korben took part in the 1998 Mr Gay UK contest – and came third.
On Pop Idol Korben did his best to wow judges with his singing skills and was initially tipped to go far in the competition.
But the performer was voted out in the first week of live shows.
Those on the show included Gareth Gates, Darius Danesh, Zoe Birkett and winner Will Young.
Korben's attempts after the competition to secure a pop career soon ended after he failed to land a record deal.
Turning his back on singing, Korben began carving out a career for himself in the beauty industry.
