HOW WILL THE LAST SERIES OF POLDARK END?
What will happen in Poldark season 5?
Poldark is a period-drama based on the novels by Winston Graham.
Showrunner Debbie Horsfield revealed she has already started writing series five but hinted this could be the final season.
There are 12 books in the novel series and it is thought that so far the series has covered parts of the first six novels and season four covered the whole of book seven called The Angry Tide.
It is, therefore, possible that the fifth series will be based on the latter half of the novel series.
The time period between the first novel and twelfth novel is 37 years, so it is uncertain what the future holds for the TV series.
The first seven novels are set in the 18th Century and finish in 1799 and the remaining five are set in the 19th century focusing on the children of the first seven books main characters.
Even the eighth novel, The Stranger from the Sea, is set in 1810 which makes Poldark 50 years old.
Season five will also be returning to Cornwall.
HOW DO THE POLDARK BOOKS END?
Season four saw Ross Poldark (played by Aidan Turner) become a Member of Parliament, however, it was revealed by Cornwall Live that the National Trust had submitted a planning application to build a temporary outdoor set for six weeks of filming at the West Wheal Owles engine house later this year.
The season four finale saw the death of Elizabeth Warleggan (Heida Reed) shortly after she gave birth to her daughter Ursula.
What does this mean for the baby’s father George (Jack Farthing) who was unconvinced that their first child Valentine was his?
Fans were left wondering what this would mean for Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), who is suspected of being the father of Valentine (Alfie Rigby).
