Piers Morgan has slammed "hopeless" Ellen Degeneres after announcing Good Morning Britain will have a special episode in LA.
The outspoken presenter believes the host is "hopeless" at her job, and wants to see Ricky Gervais hosting the awards show after a controversial stint hosting the Golden Globes.
But this came after the announcement that the show would be broadcasting live from the red carpet, with Spice Girl Mel B, Perez Hilton and actress Jane Seymour helping with the coverage, as well as showbiz reporter Ross King.
Susanna Reid pointed out that there was no host at the show, to which Piers replied: "That’s great, I’m ready.
"Ricky Gervais should host the Oscars, let’s be honest. Ricky Gervais should be parachuted in, to rip them all to pieces."
As Susanna pointed out that Ellen would be a great option, Ricky replied: "Oh don’t be ridiculous, she is a hopeless, hopeless host. Sycophantic…"
Susanna was totally shocked, pointing out the host as ran the awards ceremony three times, before the whole debate was suddenly stopped by Richard Arnold, who tried to protest his role staying at home by stealing one of the golden Oscar statuettes.
Before the shocking slight on Ellen, Piers and Susanna announced they would be heading to Hollywood to do an Oscars special on February 26.
Piers said: "We have exciting news, we are going to cover the Oscars. We are going to be live in Hollywood covering all things fashion and stars. This is going to be fun!
"We’re looking forward to this. It’s going to be a big night… after that we are going to hit Hollywood hard."
He even joked they would be holding their own party, like that of the Vanity Fair party.
The show has broadcast from the USA oncebfore, when they reported live from New York in 2016 and saw Donald Trump win the presidency.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
