SUMMER Monteys-Fullam has set her sights on Hollywood – but unfortunately for her Bake Off host ex Paul, it’s not him.
Last week, I told how Paul had been trying to win back former barmaid Summer after their split.
Now I can reveal she has signed with talent agency Broad International — which says it “represents actors who have been industry-trained by a recognised drama school”.
Summer, who split from TV baker Paul over his insistence that she signed a non-disclosure order about their relationship, had been in talks to sign with a talent agency that represents a series of Love Island stars, but now appears to have changed her mind.
A source said: “Summer had always told Paul about her ambitions in the industry, but now that she’s no longer with him she is seeing what opportunities are out there.
“She’s signed with an agency which represents actors hoping to crack the industry and get their first gig.”
Some of my downmarket rivals said she was heading into the I’m A Celeb jungle, but I’m told that could not be further from the truth.
It’s times like these that rebooting Big Brother would be a decent idea.
COMIC Katherine Ryan has taken over hosting duties from Richard Osman for Monday’s TV Choice awards. The high-profile telly event will see Strictly and soap stars flock to London’s Park Lane Hilton Hotel.
Royal approval as DIY SOS hits 20 years
NICK Knowles can count on two very famous fans to keep watching DIY SOS as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. The BBC1 host has revealed Prince William and Kate are viewers and have even written to people in the show.
He said: “William and Kate have been known to write handwritten letters to people we feature. So after we’ve done an SOS and it’s broadcast, letters have arrived at families’ houses from William and Kate.”
Both William and Prince Harry have mucked in on projects over the years – one of the most famous being Canada Street in Manchester, an entire road dedicated to service veterans.
The anniversary show DIY SOS: Celebrating 20 Years airs tomorrow on BBC1 at 8pm and will revisit Canada Street, the Grenfell community centre and other epic projects. And Nick has not ruled out getting duchesses Kate and Meghan on the show, with their hard hats on.
He added: “If a build we were doing happened to coincide with some of the things Meghan and Kate are enthusiastic about supporting, I don’t think it’s out of the question they might join in.”
RYLAN Clark-Neal is possibly the most in-demand man in TV right now – but at least he won’t have to worry about buying Christmas presents. The host has been announced to present Buy It Now For Christmas on C4.
It's dear Jason…
HE made a name for himself as a stand-up comedy king, but Jason Manford is set to become an agony uncle.
The comedian will host new panel show What Should I Do? where he is joined by celebs as they tackle contestants’ real-life dilemmas. The pilot was shot last month and Channel 4 is said to be “very interested”.
A telly source said: “Members of the public are plucked from the audience with a problem. Jason will talk it through in front of hundreds of guests and viewers at home before they are offered advice.”
Cath's boxed trot
CATHERINE Tyldesley is having a clear-out before her Strictly sequins take pride of place in her wardrobe.
The former Corrie star is supporting the Give Up Clothes For Good campaign with TK Maxx and Cancer Research UK, urging the public to donate a bag or box of pre-loved clothes, accessories or homeware to help children and young people survive cancer.
She said of the clear-out: “I find it therapeutic.”
Best to do it before Strictly takes over.
Joanne's lucky escape
FORMER Strictly dancer Joanne Clifton has vowed to take up self-defence after being followed by a man who threatened to stab her.
The ballroom pro, who is currently starring in the Rocky Horror Show musical touring the UK, took to Twitter to reveal the terrifying experience that happened this week.
She wrote: “A man started following us and swearing. Then he says, ‘I’ll f***ing stab you’. I was so shook up my legs gave way and I fell over.”
She added: “Eventually he stumbled away, but kept looking back at us and when he was gone we started walking. I feel like self-defence should definitely be taught in schools.”
Fortunately she escaped unscathed.
