Oti Mabuse ‘feuding’ with Cheryl after ‘not gelling on The Greatest Dancer’

Tensions are mounting behind the scenes of the BBC’s new talent show, The Greatest Dancer, as two of its stars apparently have a frosty relationship.

There has been a clash of ego and personality, according to insiders, as ‘dance captains’ Cheryl Tweedy and Oti Mabuse haven’t got off to the best start to their working relationship.

The Sun has reported that former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, has ‘not gelled’ with Strictly favourite Oti.

The source told them that despite Oti’s fantastic dance credentials, Cheryl "sees herself as the bigger name" and this is causing a bad atmosphere.

The cause of the ill feeling allegedly has most of the fingers being pointed in the direction of the 35-year-old Geordie singer.

The source said that she "arrived with such an air of superiority," and that the crew on the show, "thought she was being a bit of a diva."

Oti, 28, has proved to be hugely popular with Strictly fans since she joined the show and the crew on The Greatest Dancer said that she, "has absolutely no ego at all."

Despite this, the pair, "didn’t seem to gel," and it has become "pretty uncomfortable" when they are together.

This has been strenuously denied by the pair, who have indicated that there is no issue between the two ‘captains’.

Oti told Mirror Online: “I love Cheryl and had a great time filming The Greatest Dancer with her and I can’t wait to see her again soon.”

Meanwhile a spokesman for Cheryl told us: “Cheryl absolutely loves working with Oti and has a brilliant relationship with her.”

A spokesperson for The Greatest Dancer said: “Both Cheryl and Oti have a great relationship and this comes across on screen. There is absolutely no truth to any suggestion they don’t get on.”

The pair are joined by Matthew Morrison, who starred in Glee, with Alesha Dixon and Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo being handed the hosting duties.

Simon Cowelll has high hopes for this dance competition on the BBC and The Sun has reported that a spokesperson for the show has said that the pair had great chemistry on set.

There has also been denials from both camps that Oti and Cheryl are not seeing eye-to-eye but it already seems that there will be a crackling atmosphere when the show comes to TV in the new year.
