Naked Attraction struggles to pair happy couples despite sexy confessions on set

Dozens of singletons have hooked up on our TV screens in recent years in series such as Naked Attraction, Love Island, Love Is Blind and Too Hot To Handle.

With plenty of shocking, hilarious and downright outrageous exposures, it seems the perfect way to break the ice before a nerve-wracking first date.

But Naked Attraction has only managed to see just 2% of contestants find love, a very low statistic comparing to dating shows such as Love Island and Married at First Sight.

This may come as a surprise for viewers, with plenty of the contestants hitting it off on the first dates after racy innuendos and naughty confessions being exchanged during their time together on the Channel 4 set.

New data has finally revealed which dating series is the most successful for long term love, after the relationship status of couples from six popular dating shows were compared.

The most successful dating show for long lasting romance is Love Is Blind, where contestants can talk to each other, but cannot see one another.

Over 36% of couples were still together following the series, with 29% of couples either engaged or married following the dating series.

The dating series also tops the bill as show most likely to produce couples that stay together, get married or engaged, according to the research.

However none of the couples have gone on to have children together yet – with Love Island being the dating show with the highest rate of contestants who had children with their villa partner.

Over 13% of the contestants have welcomed children together including Cally Beech and Luis Morrison, Jess Shears and Dominic Lever, Cara Delahoyde and Nathan Massey and Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt.

It is also the second most successful dating series for long term romance, with over 24% of the Love Island couples still together after leaving the villa – with 9% of couples either married or engaged too.

However Married At First Sight was close competition for Love Island, with 22% of couples still together after the dating experiment which sees couples only meet face to face after accepting a marriage proposal – before choosing whether or not to say 'I do' at the alter.

Despite the rate of couples still together, none of the married pairs have yet welcomed children according to the data.

The research also showed that no couples from Too Hot To Handle were married, engaged or had children, but had a higher rate of couples staying together than Naked Attraction and First Dates, with over 8% of couples still together.

In a dramatic fall, only 2% of Naked Attraction couples were still together, while just 1.8% of First Dates couples have gone the distance – with just 1% of couples from each show becoming engaged.

But one notable couple to last the distance on Naked Attraction was Gemma and James, who hit it off after their first date.

Gemma, who was a mum-of-two, told Closer magazine: "They get on a like a house on fire and my family find the way we met hilarious.

"We’re hoping to move in together next year and marry one day.

"It may seem mad that I saw my boyfriend naked before I knew anything about him, but it worked and we’re so happy."
