Amazon Prime Video dropped Mirzapur season two recently and many viewers have swiftly binged the new series. The show picked up from the blood-drenched season one finale with the antagonists having the upper-hands and the heroes looking for revenge. Season two very much continued with this theme while bringing other players into the mix as the world of Mirzapur expanded.

Who is Robin in Mirzapur season 2?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Mirzapur season 2

Not much is known about Radheshyam “Robin” Agarwa (played by Priyanshu Painyuli), who was introduced in the second outing.

The character has been likened to Breaking Bad’s Saul Goodman because of his shady nature.

He was working in Lucknow for the local criminals of Purvanchal, overseeing their investment and running errands for them.

Season two saw him growing close to Divya “Dimpy” Pandit (Harshita Gaur) with Robin even revealing details to her which he hadn’t told anyone else including his real name.

In the finale, viewers saw wedding invitations to Dimpy and Robin’s wedding suggesting they had become serious about each other.

Nonetheless, much was kept under wraps about Robin apart from the fact he’d lost his mother.

But there were no clues about her identity, suggesting this could be an important factor in the show.

Should season three get the go-ahead, Robin could have a much bigger role to play in the show with lots of schemes and machinations bubbling away.

Mirzapur fans have been posting about Robin on Twitter with one person writing: “I still want to know who is Robin’s mother…he said to all that his mother was dead but not to Dimpy yet..and also didn’t share his real name to anyone except Dimpy..

“Why like that.. is he really innocent or there’s something mysterious Abt him.. #MirzapurOnPrime #Mirzapur2 [sic].”

Another person wrote: “Robin literally the funniest mf in the whole series with barely three scenes.

“Hope he lasts. im afraid golu or guddu are gonna blow his head off [sic].”

There are also some theories floating about relating to Robin with one person hypothesising: “Robin is Kaleen Bhaiya’s illegitimate son and be will rule Mirzapur later.”

Another person theorised as they joked: “In Mirzapur three, Robin @priyanshu29 would kidnap Kaleen Bhaiya and Beena’s (@RasikaDugal) son, and @chrishemsworth and @RandeepHooda would fight it out to save him.”

The viewer mentioned Australian Hollywood actor Hemsworth in the tweet because Painyuli previously worked with on the movie Extraction.

At this stage, it’s all just speculation but the writers have introduced Robin for a reason, and he could be a key player in Mirzapur going forward.

Although it’s not clear why Robin has been kept ambiguous, he could have a big role to play and his identity could be very important.

The writers appear to be laying down the foundations for something bigger and more epic as the show grows beyond the confines of the titular region.

The lack of information on Robin means he could be anybody and if his father is indeed Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), this could have a huge impact on the line of succession.

One thing which is becoming apparent from season two, Mirzapur will constantly see the status quo shifting.

Much like Game of Thrones, the big power players and king of Mirzapur could keep changing.

Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal) might have come out on top for now but whether he can hold onto the throne he’s won remains to be seen.

He might have the support of Beena Tripathi (Rasika Dugal), but neither of them knows the truth about Kaleen Bhaiya who survived and could wreak vengeance on them.
