Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) saw first hand that her potential future mother-in-law is not someone to cross in Emmerdale as Kim Tate (Claire King) issued her with a very clear warning – stay away from Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) or she’ll be sorry.
After Jamie and Andrea’s (Anna Nightingale) marriage hit the rocks, Belle and Jamie spent the night together and there has been a sizzling attraction ever since, despite Belle being in a relationship with Ellis Chapman (Aaron Anthony).
With Andrea officially launching a custody battle for Millie, Kim is not messing about and first of all, she tore a strip off Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) for trying to help Andrea secure accommodation – and warned her that she would be fired if she allowed Andrea to move into the cottage.
Wanting Jamie to stand the best possible chance of getting custody of his daughter, Kim was concerned to see him flirting with Belle. Aware of Belle’s history with schizophrenia, Kim decided that it was too risky for them to get close as it would harm Jamie’s case. She also knew that it could lead to Andrea accusing Jamie of infidelity.
She marched into the Dingle home and told Belle to back off, branding her a ‘nutter’ and a ‘slapper’ and warning her that she would expose everything to Ellis and the rest of the village if she went near Jamie again.
As the custody battle turns decisively nasty (let’s face it, it was always going to with Kim involved), will belle heed Kim’s threat or will she tell Jamie what his mother has been up to this time?
It remains to be seen who will come out on top but Andrea has made it clear that she is not intimidated by Kim – and will fight this to the bitter end.
