John Barrowman confused Lorraine viewers today by doing his entire interview with a Scottish accent.
The I’m A Celebrity star, 51, shunned his usual American dialect for his native Scottish tones.
The Doctor Who actor was born in Glasgow before moving to the United States with his family in 1975.
He told Lorraine Kelly that he always reverts back to his Scottish accent when speaking to fellow Scots.
John explained: "When I’m with my mum and dad and my brother and sister I speak Scottish. When I’m with anyone who is Scottish I will speak with a Scottish accent because you are privileged."
The theatre star also revealed that he was bullied when he moved to Illinois at eight-years-old.
He said: "It’s also because when I was a kid I was bullied when I went to the States speaking Scottish with non-Scots."
John jokingly shouted: "Leave me alone – it’s the way I speak."
Some Lorraine viewers were left feeling very confused by his accent.
One viewer said: "Why is @JohnBarrowman speaking with a Scottish accent all of a sudden? Just sounds false"
"John Barrowman talks Scottish to anyone who’s Scottish – how fake and pretentious," added another.
A third said: "John barrowman speaking in his Scottish accent is so confusing"
But lots of viewers were loving John’s hilarious antics across the show.
One fan said: "You’ve made my morning. Love the Barrowman . Hilariously funny !"
Another added: "Gotta admit, John is my guilty pleasure…Fabulooooooooous!"
A third agreed: "John Barrowman on #Lorraine what a joy. Was smiling all through the show"
