Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell have waltz their way to the Strictly final tomorrow night, but the question everyone’s asking is whether or not they’ve sparked up a romance.
Gazing into each other’s eyes in his numerous vlogs, anyone who doesn’t watch Strictly would think the two are an item.
Spending nearly seven days a week together for 8 hours a day would naturally make two people close, but Joe, 27, and Dianne, 29, have genuine chemistry, according to a body language expert and psychologist.
Wiltshire-born Joe, who is the brother of famous blogger Zoella, 28, has always remained tight-lipped about his love life and refused to deny romance with Dianne.
When asked by Phillip Schofield on This Morning if they were dating, Joe said: "It’s so nice I have met such a good friend in Dianne. We haven’t go time to think of anything else.”
Phillip then pushed him, saying: “Is that a no?”
But a bashful Joe replied: “We are so busy dancing…”
Body language expert Darren Stanton definitely sees something there.
“These two have got such a high level of rapport normally reserved for those in a romantic relationship.
“I’d say if it’s not already happening, it will at some point start to turn into a romantic relationship,” he says.
Professional dancer Dianne split with Emmerdale actor Anthony Quinlan, 34, after 10 months together, claiming the distance and clashing work schedules caused the break up.
And fans have been speculating for weeks that she has moved on with former roof thatcher Joe, worth an estimated £1.5m, fuelled by frequent appearances on his hugely successful YouTube channels.
Every week Joe and Dianne have been making vlogs reviewing their performances, giggling with one another on Joe’s channel ThatcherJoeVlogs to millions of his subscribers.
In one video, looking back at their Halloween themed Fox Trot, Joe tried to dispel any rumours of romance by saying: “Dianne’s round my house! I can’t believe it. That can only mean one thing – Dianne’s round my house in my YouTube video. It must mean we’re going out with each other.”
Dianne then jokingly says: “Hello boyfriend! If a girl comes round a boy’s house they’re definitely boyfriend and girlfriend.”
But Darren says it’s common for people who are attracted to one another to say one thing with their mouths and another with their body language.
He says: “Sometimes people say things but it’s conflicted by the body language. So they’re saying that they aren’t an item, but their body language tells a different story.
“In this video, there are a lot of really interesting moments between them.
“Dianne also keeps playing with her hair, which is a text book example of what women do when they are attracted to someone. Men sometimes also run their hands through their hair, but we’re not seeing that from Joe here.
“Although he is reciprocating in other ways.
“They’re also poking each other, high-fiving and giggling. Even if they were just getting on really well as friends, they wouldn’t continually do that if there weren’t some deeper feelings there.”
In most of the vlogs on Joe’s channel with Dianne, the pair frequently make eye contact for an extended period of time, which is another giveaway according to Darren.
“Normal eye contact is generally between 3-5 seconds. If you imagine talking to one of your colleagues, at the five second mark we usually look away or blink.
“Most people find eye contact quite an uncomfortable process. They find it quite intimidating, whereas Joe and Dianne are super comfortable with eachother.
“Some might argue that they’re dancing together a lot, so it’s they’re just used to being in one another’s personal space. But there could be something more to the friendship.
“They are sat so close together, their arms are nearly constantly touching. That’s how you would be with your girlfriend or boyfriend, I don’t think most people would be doing that as much with their friends or colleagues.
“People do have different levels of being comfortable but certainly the way they are together shows they’re comfortable on a romantic level.”
In another vlog also starring Zoella, Dianne feeds him chocolates during a training session as the pair muck around.
Darren says: “There are lots of little moments between them that show they’re very tactile; she’s feeding him chocolate, it’s all very flirtacious.
“They are so comfortable with each other, you can just see that.”
The pair are all over one another’s social media accounts and fans are hoping the two will soon confirm a romance.
One fan commented: “You are perfect for each other, you should go back and watch all of Joe’s videos of you both and then think about yourselves together, you would last a lifetime.”
Another said: “They really do look so good together!”
Darren says the Strictly environment is naturally a place for chemistry to form.
He says: “The way you build a rapport with someone very very quickly is in extreme environments and extreme intensities. Extreme stress, anxiety, or if you’re going through the same emotions together.
“It’s quite an intimate process they’re going through on Strictly, being in and out of eachother’s space. But with previous contestants I’ve noticed that when they’re not dancing or not in contact, there isn’t quite that degree of intimacy in terms of the rapport that these two have.
“If it’s not already happening, I’d guess it is going to.”
Only time will tell, as Strictly comes to an end tomorrow night.
