I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers were left horrified and full of sympathy when football star and Lioness Jill Scott got a cockroach stuck in her ear following the latest Bushtucker Trial.
As the 35 year old footballer panicked and realised she'd left the Scareground and Tombola with one of the nasty critters lodged in her canal, a medic was rushed in to assist before things got serious.
The dramatic scenes came as a result of Jill choosing to take on the Unlucky Dip, while rugby star Mike Tindall, 44, went for a ride on the Critter Carousel and Owen Warner, 23, hopped on the Fiendish Ferris Wheel.
As the trial came to an end, Jill told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’ve just got a cockroach stuck in my ear.”
Thankfully, a medic was on hand to remove the creature straight away, and a shaken Jill managed to joke: “Come to the jungle they said, it would be fun…”
“Jill, that was bigger than the one Fatima Whitbread had up her nose!” Ant cried, trying to make light of the situation.
The footballer finally revealed she could hear again, and was more eager to learn the results of how the group performed.
Taking to Twitter, viewers couldn't stomach the prospect of having a cockroach stuck inside your ear – and praised Jill for remaining calm despite the circumstances.
One person wrote: "#JillScott is a national treasure. Calmness under pressure with a cockroach in her ear. Amazing."
Another said: "jill scott deserves that bbq xx".
A third viewer posted: "Jill definitely deserves that trip especially after having a cockroach in her ear", while a fourth commented: "Jill Scott is a champ".
Ahead of the trial, Ant and Dec told the campmates they had to choose three people between them to try and win coloured balls.
Each celebrity had a different coloured ball, and once the trial was over they were all counted in a Tombola, with Mike, Jill and Owen all trying their best to land balls in the hoops.
Upon learning of her challenge, Jill wavered at first.
"I don’t know why I’ve just volunteered for that," the athlete admitted. “It’s alright, 10 minutes of hell.”
As the trial came to an end, Ant and Dec then had to choose three balls at random to send lucky celebs for a barbecue on the beach, which ended up being Sue Cleaver, Matt Hancock, and Jill herself.
It was only fitting that the star should be rewarded after her cockroach scare, as Matt, 44, told her: "You really, really deserve this after what you went through. And the fact that you’re so hungry.”
