Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace’s work disrupted on show as she gets Covid

Hollyoaks star Annie Wallace has revealed that she’s ‘spent nearly a week’ with Covid-19.

The actress, who plays Sally St Claire on the Channel 4 soap, took to social media to share an update with fans, revealing that her symptoms are starting to ease.

‘I’ve spent nearly a week with COVID,’ the soap star wrote on Twitter. ‘symptoms easing, which is great.

‘It’s been no worse than a bad cold, in all honesty, but of course it comes with the isolation thing, which has halted a lot of stuff (work, theatre shows etc).

‘It’s not gone, folks.’

Get well soon Annie! It’s all change for the star’s Hollyoaks character Sally, who lost her job as head teacher of the local high school this week, breaking her heart in the process.

So….

Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox), meanwhile, was subsequently offered the position of head teacher, which came as a shock to her and, despite her desire to take up the role, she was adamant that she must decline out of loyalty to Sally.

Sally, however, refused to let Nancy do such a thing, reiterating that she’s one of the best educators she’s ever come across, insisting that she take the role, branding her the perfect person to lead the school into an exciting new era.

What this means for Sally remains to be seen, but Annie hinted at this being the beginning of a new chapter for the character.

‘Last day as head of Hollyoaks, January 2023,’ she wrote on Instagram on the day her final scenes as head teacher aired.

‘what is she going to do with her time now?’

We can’t wait to find out!
