HOLLYOAKS viewers are set for an eventful Christmas as show bosses tease this year's dramatic storylines.
And it appears Sienna Blake and Brody Hudson's relationship will take centre stage during the festive period as their relationship is tested.
According to soap insiders, Sienna – played by Anna Passey – will discover "devastating news" about Brody, which leaves their romance in the balance.
Darren Osbourne and Mandy Richardson are also set for a rocky time after spending Christmas Day with Luke Morgan and Cindy Cunningham.
While the New Year will see the start of the County Lines drug dealers storyline.
Hollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood told Digital Spy: "In 2020, we want to explore what happens when the Hollyoaks community – and the school in particular – comes under threat from County Lines drug dealers.
"We kick it off in quite an ambitious way in our New Year special, which is an hour-long episode. It shows three different New Year parties.
"You'll see the mums, as Nancy is throwing a party. The older teens – Romeo, Tom, Peri, and Yazz – are having a party of their own. You'll see the younger teens like Charlie, Ella and Leah too.
"Across each of the parties, we flash forward to New Year's Eve next year to see some of our best-loved characters in really dramatic and surprising situations, a whole 12 months in advance."
Characters of the E4 soap have been plagued with drama in recent months.
News of Sienna and Brody's upcoming relationship problems will no doubt cause a stir with fans, who started a petition to keep the couple together last month.
The soap couple have been put through the ringer by writers.
Not only did the on-off couple nearly split up for good, but their surrogate mother Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) revealed she lost their baby to miscarriage.
They were also hit with the news that Liberty won't carry another baby for them.
The emotional storyline left fans setting up two petitions to convince the showrunners to give them a happy ending.
The Change.org petition reads: "This is a petition to try and give Brody and Sienna their happy ending.
"I know it's a bit extreme, but me and so many other Hollyoaks fans have had enough of them splitting up perfect ships!
"So I thought I'd do something about it, and finally let the fans have a say and our voices heard. We always get ignored, and we've had enough.
"So if you're a Hollyoaks fan or a soap fan please support!
"Their soulmates and all the fans love them, we just want one couple to survive, without being split up, or cheating on the other.
"They're a fan favourite couple and so many people love them! We have to at least save one couple. These two deserve it!"
Hollyoaks is expected to air an hour-long Christmas special this year.
