GMB viewers fuming as children’s grief choir are ‘cut off’ for ad break

Good Morning Britain viewers lashed out at the programme today after a children’s grief choir was cut off mid-song for an ad break.

Simon Thomas and son Ethan had appeared on the ITV programme for an interview about grief as part of GMB’s loneliness campaign.

After the heartfelt interview that left many viewers sobbing, hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard spoke to members of children’s choir Brief Encounter.

This included Luke Drewett, whose dad died and said that being part of the choir had helped his grieving process.

The choir have teamed up with Katherine Jenkins for single Jealous of the Angels and sang the song on the show today.

But fans were left gobsmacked when the choir were abruptly ‘cut off’ so that the programme could go to an ad break.

One viewer tweeted: "What was the editorial reason for cutting away from the kids singing that emotive performance about grief for an advert break?"

While another commented: "Oh well, that’s a balls up eh #GMB."

A third remarked: "All that effort and you cut them off #gmb an extra few seconds and not not your logo!"

" What is wrong, cutting that gorgeous children’s choir off for some stupid adverts. Have a heart, be ashamed of yourselves," another wrote.

Another commented: "#GMB Feel sorry for the choir getting cut off."

A viewer wrote: "Why did they cut them off? #GMB @GMB @ITV."

Mirror TV have contacted GMB for comment.
