Gemma Collins is in a wheelchair after struggling to walk following horror fall on Dancing On Ice

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, James Argent says his girlfriend is so badly injured after the horror fall, she can barely walk and is having to use her mother Joan's wheelchair.

“Gemma couldn’t sleep last night because she’s in so much pain,” Arg tells The Sun Online.

“The swelling around her thighs and knees is horrific, and she’s black and blue all over.

“She's struggling to walk so I had to carry her to the car earlier, and she's been using Joan's wheelchair on and off all day because she's in so much pain.

“She’s seeing a private doctor tomorrow who will determine what will happen next. It will be her worst nightmare if she's forced to pull out of the show, she doesn't want to be a sick note, she wants to continue and we strongly believe she's a real contender to win.”

James also hit out at cruel trolls who claims Gemma faked the fall for publicity – after her infamous collapse at the Teen Choice Awards garnered headlines around the world.

He said: "Anyone who thinks Gemma faked the fall and risked life-threatening injures is an idiot.

"She had a feeling that something was going to go wrong on the night… and she was right!"

Gemma’s nasty fall came during last night’s live show as she was performing to Celine Dion’s All Coming Back To Me Now.

Gemma tripped on the ice as she struggled to catch up with partner Matt Evers, sending her flying forward and crashing face first to the ice.

But Gemma jumped back up and finished the routine with a big smile on her face – before bursting into tears and getting her highest score of the series from judges.

Later that night, Gemma soothed her injuries with ice packs on her knees, showing off the bruising and cuts on Instagram Stories this morning.

Earlier today, she posted she was “devastated, embarrassed and heartbroken” and said she was inspired by Tyson Fury to get back up and continue skating.

She wrote: "Absolutely devastated & embarrassed.

"My heart is broken but when I went down I thought of @gypsyking101 Tyson Fury and knew I had to get back up & carry on!

"Can’t thank you enough for your support on social media and picking up the phone to vote! I'm in a lot of pain but bring on fantasy week!!"
