Fate The Winx Saga: Terra star hints at arrival of ‘new friends’ to stir up trouble

Fate: The Winx Saga teaser released by Netflix

Fate: The Winx Saga has already established itself as one of the most popular Netflix shows of 2021, but with only six episodes being released for the first season, fans are begging for more. It’s anyone’s guess if Netflix is going to renew the series for another run, but it seems like some of the stars might already have some intel about what can be expected.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Fate: The Winx Saga star Eliot Salt, who plays Terra in the show, teased season two will be “the perfect time for them to get some new friends”.

“I think it’s going to take all the girls’ strength to overcome their new challenges,” she said.

At the end of season one, viewers saw Bloom (played by Abigail Cowen), Stella (Hannah Van der Westhuysen), Musa (Elisha Applebaum) and Aisha (Precious Mustapha) and Terra return to Alfea College after a trip to California to find Rosalind (Lesley Thorp) had taken over as headmistress.

The fairies are yet to find out Farah Dowling (Eve Best) is dead but with Stella’s mother Queen Luna (Kate Fleetwood) showing support to Rosalind, it’s likely they will need all the allies they can find.

But who could fans see pop up in season two if new characters are introduced?

If the original Winx Club cartoon, which the Netflix show is based on, is anything to go by, there are still a few fairies fans need to meet.

In addition to Bloom, Stella, Musa and Aisha, there were also Techna, Flora and Roxy, who might join the existing cast next season.

Eliot said she doesn’t really know what’s to come if they will get a series two, but she has her own hopes.

“I feel like it’d be interesting to see just the limits of their powers,” she teased.

“I mean, Terra is quite focused on little flowers and vines at the moment. So any expansion on that would be great.

“Roots would be very useful,” Eliot added. “Things can be torn up from the ground. Whatever Brian wants to throw at me, really.”

But ultimately Eliot hopes her character will remain unchanged, adding: “I think Terra for me the biggest journey of hers is to own herself a little bit more.

“I think she’s a big personality, she’s talking a lot and giving a lot and really wanting everybody to like her.

“What I appreciate actually about her arc is that her personality doesn’t adjust itself that much.”

Eliot continued: “She just gives herself the room to show different sides of it. We sort of see even in the final episode, she’s still chatting away and telling anecdotes that nobody wants to hear.

“And I hope that doesn’t change because it shouldn’t have to change for anyone.

“I think what’s great is that she gets to keep that part of herself but own herself when she wants to be strong and when she wants to show everyone how great at magic and people she is.”

Viewers will surely be glad to hear this as Terra has established herself as a fan favourite, however Eliot wasn’t sure she would get the role before she auditioned.

“All I really knew is that it was a 16 year old fairy and so I just thought there’s no way I’m getting that,” said the 27-year-old actress who also starred in Normal People.

“I was like ‘that feels like a bit of a stretch.’ So it wasn’t really until we were going forward, that I got the privilege of learning all about it [the original Winx Club show] and meeting all the lovely fans.”
