Emmerdale villain Thomas King ‘set for explosive return after ten years’

Emmerdale villain Thomas King is reportedly set for an "explosive" return to the hit ITV soap after ten years.

Thomas, whose dad is late killer Carl King, is apparently making a shocking comeback next month and will be played by newcomer James Chase.

Viewers will recall that Thomas, who was previously played by Mark Flanagan, terrorised the village in 2013 by stalking Chas Dingle.

And he also had a relationship with Belle Dingle, even convincing her to run away with him, but soon had a change of heart and instead fled the village alone by stealing Dan's camper van.

A source told The Sun: "Tom’s return is going to be explosive. He shocks his uncle Jimmy when he returns to the village and it’s not clear why he’s back.

"Fans will be glued to their screens watching Tom’s comeback unfold — and his presence could cause chaos.

"They will all be asking if he’s as evil as his dad Carl and wondering why he’s returned."

OK! has contacted ITV for comment.

It comes as executive producer Jane Hudson recently admitted on Loose Women that things would begin to look up for Belle as she teased a steamy new romance for the young entrepreneur.

During the show, Jane was asked fans' questions with one being: "They ask 'will Belle find love soon?' And suggest she'd be a good match for Jacob [Gallagher]."

To which Jane replied: "She’s not gonna find love with Jacob but she is gonna find love! We’ve got a bit of summer loving for Belle, so you need to see what happens. But yes, Belle is finally going to fall in love with someone!”

She even teased fans further by adding: “It could even be the most perfect relationship we’ve ever seen!”

Belle, who is played by actress Eden Taylor-Draper in the show, was last in a serious relationship on screen with Ellis Chapman, prior to straying with married man Jamie Tate.

With a new love teased and reports that her ex is returning, could Belle's man be villain Thomas?
