Emmerdale fans spot major blunder as Robert Sugden arrested over Billy beating

Robert Sugden was arrested for beating up Billy Fletcher, the son of Jessie Grant.

Jessie had just staged one of the biggest and best weddings in Emmerdale history, after she surprised a very hungover Marlon Dingle and the pair tied the knot in a beautifully decorated barn.

But fans were a little bit confused about Robert’s arrest, and shared the blunder, saying that there is no way Robert should have been arrested for the beating, despite being the one to have beat Billy up.

Billy was once in prison with Aaron Dingle, Robert’s husband, and caused Aaron a world of hurt over the time they were locked up together.

Jessie’s son then arrived home and surprised everyone, but immediately there was a major argument between Aaron and Billy, causing the Dingle clan to divide over who to back.

In the end, Robert took matters into his owns hands, and despite Billy protesting about calling the police, Jessie did it for him, and she got the police round to Aaron and Robert’s to confront them, believing it was Aaron who did the deed.

But fans noticed something rather shocked about the incident – that the police had not even seen Billy innjured before questioning Aaron and Robert over the injuries.

One fan asked: "So the police where going to arrest Rob without even checking Billy was actually beat up #emmerdale"

Emmerdale murderer Lachlan White to make shock return after brutal killing

A pretty important detail the police may want to look into before accusing others, right?

Meanwhile, other fans were livid that Robert may have to suffer in prison over a character who has only caused grief, while putting forward a shocking theory about who could have been involved with Robert’s return.

One said: "The cheek of Jessie in # emmerdale Got everyone to spend their Xmas in a barn to see her fake marry Marlon, moved her son (just out of prison) into MARLON’s house and now wants to tell the police about Robert. Jessie has ruined Xmas"

Another said: "WHAT ROBERT CAN’T GO TO PRISON OVER AARON I’LL SUE # emmerdale"

A third said: "I think maybe Lachlan and Billy were in the same prison/cell together, and Lachlan asked Billy to break into the Dingles and get a picture of Belle for him, either in return for something or bcoz Billy owes Lachlan a favour. # Emmerdale"

If Lachlan’s behind Billy’s surprise return, who knows what could lay ahead for the Dingle clan.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm and again at 8pm on Thursdays on ITV.
