Emmerdale fans seriously concerned for Marlon as recovery takes dark turn | The Sun

LESS than three months after his stroke, Marlon Dingle continues his journey to a full recovery.

However, the storyline was deemed unrealistic by Emmerdale viewers who are struggling to believe in the chef's quick progress.

Marlon Dingle (portrayed by Mark Charnock) has spent recent weeks fully committed to recovering from his stroke.

Last night's trip to the ITV Dales showed him learning how to walk back on his own two feet as his speech has been slowly improving.

The professional chef was pushed by Kit, his physical therapist, to find his independence again with the help of two parallel bars as he was asked to pull himself up from his wheelchair.

But when his efforts didn't pay off, Marlon grew frustrated and ordered the physiotherapist (played by Thoren Ferguson) to leave his house, calling him a sadist.

He then opened up to Rhona (Zoe Henry) about his fears, terrified he wasn't making progress.

Emmerdale viewers were watching closely enough to deem the long-running drama's depiction of stroke recovery too far from reality.

Throughout the episode, fans stormed over to Twitter to put the program on blast.

One of them wrote: "Marlon’s physio was going too far in my opinion. He was a bit unfair" just as a second viewer agreed: "Marlon can’t talk properly but he can sit up OK and use his arms and hand plus ask to go to the toilet [cry laughing emoji] do you research better Emmerdale."

A third viewer complained, alongside a cry laughing emoji: "Marlon already nearly back to normal Marlon lol if only REAL stroke victims had such a quick recovery PATHETIC."

Another noted: "Angry Marlon didn’t even stutter. That’s him on the mend."

Mary Goskirk soon got involved and convinced Marlon's physio to help him once he admitted he was a terrible cook.

This led to the therapist coming up with a new plan and asked Marlon to teach him how to cook if he was allowed to help him to walk again.

Marlon seemed happy with their agreement, showing his therapist how to dice a tomato into cubes without any help.
