Eamonn Holmes has questioned a woman’s mental health after she divorced her ghost husband who tried to kill her.
Yes, the stunned wife Amanda Teague appeared on This Morning, where she opened up about her relationship with the 300-year-old spirit.
And while explaining how she has suffered from long term health problems, the 59-year-old presenter made sure to clear up what these were.
He asked the guest: ‘Looking back on your wedding pictures now, do you feel a bit silly no? Or are you happy, proud?’
Without hesitation, the former medium said: ‘I have long existing health problems that are not going to way, although since my exorcism my health has dramatically improved.’
Eamonn decided to pause her there for a second, while he quizzed: ‘And they’re not mental health problems?’
To which Amanda replied: ‘No, I do not have mental health problems.’
The 47-year-old divorcee had candidly spoken about her marriage and how she had to walk away from her hubby, Jack, after realising he was making her ill.
She explained: ‘It was five years after I had started in a mediumship that Jack presented himself and it was several months before I believed he was who he claimed to be.
‘The first time I noticed something was wrong was when I got married and my health started to decline, everything was fine and then I started to get all these weird health problems.’
Amanda continued: ‘Things happen and you can’t always blame it on the paranormal. But I knew about attachment spirits and possession.
‘This went on for almost two years, until I got sepsis last year in June and I almost died, I needed emergency surgery.’
Ruth Langsford was also interviewing Amanda and asked how the spirit could do this to her.
The divorcee called her ex an ‘energy vampire.’
‘So when we die it’s a normal to stay in this realm,’ she said: ‘But they need an energy source and unfortunately Jack was using me of an energy source.’
Amanda added: ‘He had never accepted his own death but he wanted to continue living through my own body
‘In the end there were a lot of red flags, then after my operation realised it was him [making me ill]. It took me a while to figure out if he knew what he was doing, and if he did intend to harm me.
‘But I had an exorcism last year.’
Since then, Amanda has given up being a medium after she discovered there was a darker side to her hobby, and insists her health has improved.
She stated: ‘I was stronger than him so ultimately I’m really proud I managed to get my life back, I’m back working and I’m much happier.’
This Morning continues weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
