With auditions set to begin in a matter of weeks, the Geordie presenter revealed: "It's back to normal for BGT – fingers crossed it will be great."
Ant will start filming the auditions for BGT in January and will be back hosting the live shows alongside Declan Donnelly in May and June.
It comes after Ant missed hosting the 2017 live shows of BGT after he was convicted of drink-driving.
43-year-old Dec also took time to praise Holly Willoughby after she stepped in to replace Ant McPartlin as co-host on the recent series of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Speaking at the I'm A Celeb wrap party, Dec said of Holly: "There is nobody I would have preferred to stood next to.
"We were thrilled with the ratings, they are absolutely great. Holly has been fantastic too, just brilliant. She was the one I wanted and I am thrilled she did it.
Stephen Mulhern recently appeared on Good Morning Britain where he confirmed that Ant McPartlin is "doing very well" ahead of his anticipated TV comeback.
The TV presenter – who hosts BGT's spin-off show – gushed it would be "nice to have the family back together" for next year's show after Ant's year out from showbiz.
Stephen said: "I think it's great. I think it's brilliant. Look, he's apparently doing very well.
"It'll be nice to have all the family back together. It's all good. It's all back on track and it's all lovely."
