Deadliest Catch star Nick McGlashan has died aged 33.
According to TMZ, the television personality, who appeared in the Discovery Channel show for seven years, passed away on Sunday in Nashville, Tennessee.
The cause of death currently remains unknown.
Nick was a seventh-generation fisherman and his family had close connections to the sea. His great uncle worked on the first boat in the US crab industry, while two of his aunts were crabbers.
Nick struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol for years, and shared in blog post in 2017 that his life went ‘from Bering Sea badass to full blown junkie very rapidly.’
‘I was three overdoses into my addiction and a heavy alcoholic,’ he wrote.
‘My addict self was killing me and I was struggling to die.’
Nick was suspended from part of Deadliest Catch’s 13th season and went to rehab.

One fan penned: ‘My heart is broken. Nick McGlashan was one of my favorite guys on @DeadliestCatch & as strange as it is, all the guys felt like family.
