Dancing On Ice's Melody Thornton pours water on Pussycat Dolls reunion

The Dancing On Ice star, 34, revealed she has a collection of seven Shirley Bassey and Nancy Sinatra-inspired songs that she's hoping to release.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online about the possibility of a renuion, she said: "I think it would be great for everyone to enjoy themselves and their lives, and whatever direction it is they want to go.

"For me, I've spent years developing music and funding it myself. I would really like to get music out on my own as a creative person."

Her solo sound is a departure from the slick RnB of the Pussycat Dolls, with more emphasis on vocals than raunchy dance routines.

She continued: "It's all modelled after the late 60s, early 70s but it's a specific era it's all pretty cohesive."

"It's Nancy Sinatra-esque, Shirley Bassey, who I absolutely love, there's some very western moment like a Quentin Tarantino film score."

While she has no immediate desire to return to the Dolls, she has nothing but positive things to say about her time in the group.

She said: "Pussycat Dolls was the best thing that could have ever happened to me in my career. It was the first audition I ever went on in Hollywood and I got it. And then it went massive."

However, she continued: "I owe who I am as a songwriter and a singer and just make music you like and love and when you perform it people will feel that energy."

The news might disappoint fans of the group who were looking forward to them storming the charts again after Kimberley Wyatt told The Chris Ramsey Show on Comedy Central UK last year that all the band members, including Nicole Scherzinger, were up for it.

Kimberly said: “We’re looking at the possibility of maybe strapping on the stilettos and fishnets and once again living the dream.

“We’re all just in a place where we’re all ready to live it all again, make it fun and enjoy it so I’m looking at the possibilities.

"(We're reuniting at the) End of this year. When I’ve got a dream and an intent I’m quite relentless at pushing forward and making it happen.”
