Chris Packham’s step-daughter reveals future on Springwatch and claims ‘I work twice as hard’ because of famous family | The Sun

CHRIS Packham's step-daughter has revealed her future on Springwatch and claims she works 'twice as hard' because of her famous family.

Megan McCubbin presents the show alongside her stepdad, as well as Michaela Strachan, Gillian Burke and Lolo Williams.

However, Chris, 61, previously announced he was taking a break from the seasonal wildlife show after suffering from "burn out".

On the back of the news, the BBC later announced it had scraped the autumn edition of the programme.

But fans don't have to worry as Megan is still very much apart of the team.

The zoologist, 25, confirmed to The Sun: "No, I've not left. I love the watches and I'm still very much part of the team and we're having conversations at the moment about Springwatch.

"There'll probably be some pre recorded films on there as well, but I'll always be part of the watches team, and I have a lot of love for the show."

The star also opened up on how she has had to work harder because of her famous family.

She said: "I'm very lucky to have had that door open for me.

"Because it is a hard industry to get into and my eyes are wide open to the fact that I've been very, very, very lucky to get to where I am, but that doesn't mean I haven't worked very, very hard as well. I'm a qualified scientist. I have volunteered around the world."

Springwatch is due to return to the BBC later this year.
