FANS of Call the Midwife have lashed out at the BBC after an epic schedule change has seen the hit drama be forced off the air.
The long-running BBC favourite regularly airs on a Sunday evening in the 8pm slot but has been booted from the BBC One schedules as they are the BAFTAs instead.
It has left fans on tenterhooks following the dramatic penultimate episode last night which saw Sister Monica Joan's life hanging in the balance.
The character has been a mainstay in the programme for over ten years and viewers were left shocked as her health took a turn for the worst at the closing of the episode.
Sister Monica Joan was forced to miss the evening prayer after feeling weary and it wasn't long until her fellow nuns were left calling for a doctor after they noticed her eyes turning yellow.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, she was floored to be told by Dr Patrick that she had become the latest person to have fallen ill with hepatitis.
