The Bravo reality series is off to a fiery start after a major clash between Malia White and Lexi Wilson. Below Deck Mediterranean saw the pair arguing over money and, despite being kept in the dark about the situation, Captain Sandy was snippy towards bosun Malia in the aftermath of the incident.

In season six of the reality series, Captain Sandy returned to navigate the Lady Michelle yacht across the stunning Dalmatian Coast.

Malia White is a bosun on the yacht and works alongside Lexi Wilson, one of the main stewardesses on board and the two have clashed several times this season.

After the incident, Captain Sandy had a few snippy words to say and Malia has since spoken about the clash and her boss’ reaction.

Speaking about Captain Sandy, Malia explained to Decider that she was “really hungry” at that moment and was behind on her work.

She added she was hungry to the point of being “hangry” and Captain Sandy had a few words.

“It’s just one of those moments where you know exactly what needs to get done and you’re taking care of it,” the bosun continued.

“But the boss walks out and you’re just like, ‘Ugh, go back to the bridge!’”

However, Malia was quick to express her appreciation for the Captain, adding: “I appreciate that Captain Sandy is always holding me to a higher standard and she’s always rooting for me.”

While in Croatia, everyone at the table owed 300 kuna for their dinner, but Lexi only had euros so proceeded to ask Malia what the conversion rate was to pay her share.

Lexi then became increasingly frustrated and said she was disappointed that Malia didn’t just admit she didn’t know the conversion rate so the two could simply figure out money the next day.

Afterwards, Malia told Decider she made the conscious decision to keep Captain Sandy in the dark about Lexi’s terrible conduct.

Captain Sandy wasn’t aware of the situation as it is often “very awkward for [the crew]” and for her as a team leader.

“There’s no way they know everything all the time,” said Malia.

Malia did confirm relationships have been filled with “ups and downs” this season, which will continue as the show progresses.

“This isn’t the first time I get yelled at this season,” she remarked.

“So I definitely was on a different side to Captain Sandy this season, which was a learning experience for me.”

Despite their differences, Malia stated this season has been so much “fun” and revealed it was actually “the most fun I’ve had while filming” despite the comments and confrontation with Lexi.

Malia explained the crew tried very hard to remain “carefree and fun and positive” this season.

The group’s efforts have led to season six becoming a much “better experience” for all.

The bosun had previously spoken to the publication about her clash with Lexi, claiming it was a “rough night” for the both of them and “ugly on all sides”.

In the episode, It’s Not Easy Being Green, the drama between Lexi and Malia escalated after a crew dinner on a night off for the team.

The pair got into a disagreement over the bill but Lexi admitted to The Daily Dish the whole thing was “definitely a misunderstanding”.

Below Deck Mediterranean is available to watch on Bravo in the US.
