Barry from EastEnders never had much luck with the ladies – nor in fact did Barry from Extras.
It’s the character that Shaun Williamson can’t shake off – but the actor has more than a firm sense of humour about it as a new advertisement for Pot Noodle’s Lost The Pot Noodle shows him taking the mick out of himself in the video you never knew you needed until now.
With other soap stars such as Cliff Parisi and Tina Malone of Brookside fame taking part, Shaun was preparing for a Zoom date and prepped himself a pack of Lost The Pot Noodle – which is your Pot Noodle without the pot. Less plastic, lads, get behind it.
As he sat waiting for his date, he found that he couldn’t wait any longer before getting stuck into his food, which we can all relate to.
But as he finished his last mouthful, is dream girl called up and was less than impressed with his etiquette.
Poor Barry. When will he learn?
Shaun, a keen quizzer and TV personality, reminds us how much we miss bumbling but loveable Barry – but as he does in Shaun, he will live on – whether through parody or noodle advertisements.
Speaking of the actual noodles, Lena Portchmouth, Marketing Manager at Pot Noodle has commented: ‘You may think we have lost the plot with the launch of our latest pot-less format, but whether you’re needing to fill hungry tummies, or are a student looking to save time and money, Lost The Pot Noodle is the perfect solution for those after a speedy and filling fix, so you can noodle in no time.’
‘Rest assured, our newest creations are just as flavoursome as our trusty pots, but we’ve just made it a little easier to create a delicious, low in saturated fat meal that is ideal for dinnertime when something truly satisfying is needed on the table. And, with the help of the witty soap stars, we hope that the new range will bring our noodlers some much-needed laughter.’
Oh and in case you were wondering, Cliff Parisi is as unlucky at yoga as Barry is, in love.
Asda is selling Lost The Pot Noodle now if you fancy a similar Zom date, hopefully with a happier ending.
