Today Buckingham Palace has shared the sad news that Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has passed away aged 99.
The UK has now entered a period of national mourning, which will last until the day of the Queen’s husband’s funeral.
As a result, many of the nation’s TV channels have cancelled their planned schedules.
Both the BBC and ITV have paused their live programming, instead prioritising rolling coverage as updates unfold.
The changes to the TV schedule will continue into this evening.
All TV shows cancelled tonight
BBC has cancelled EastEnders The One Show, and Have I Got News For You.
