The Man is officially a mom.
WWE superstar Becky Lynch announced the birth of her first child with fellow WWE wrestler Seth Rollins on her Instagram on Monday.
“Welcome to the world Roux,” the 33-year-old Lynch wrote with a picture of her and Rollins holding the baby’s hand with the child covered and dressed in a pink and white outfit. “You are the love of our lives. #andnew”
Lynch, who uses “The Man” as part of her wrestling persona, had her last WWE match taped in late March for April’s WrestleMania 36. She stepped away from company in early May when she announced on “Monday Night Raw” that she was pregnant and vacated her Raw women’s championship to Asuka. Lynch, along with Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey, became the first women to main event WrestleMania in 2019.
Lynch and Rollins, 34, got engaged in August 2019 and had their wedding plans changed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Rollins last wrestled at the Survivor Series on Nov. 22 and was reportedly going to take time off with the baby on the way.
WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which helps set the stage for WrestleMania, will likely be held the last Sunday in January before Super Bowl Sunday. It gives Lynch — who last week was seen working out on an elliptical bike in a photo posted on Instagram by Deadboys Fitness, Rollins’ fitness company — approximately seven weeks to prepare for a surprise return if she so chooses.
Lynch could also take her time. Having never actually lost the championship it allows her to pop up at any time from here to WrestleMania in April to challenge Asuka or whomever is champion at the time for the belt. She could also decide to extend her time away and enjoy motherhood. Rollins told The Post in June that Lynch did miss the go, go, go of the wrestling business.
“For her to go just a million miles an hour to nothing and then to try to figure out, ‘What do I do now?’ in the middle of a pandemic as well, where there is just not a lot to do in general, is definitely a test for her,” he said at the time. “She misses being out there and going and doing stuff and being active and having goals and career-oriented stuff.
“That’s just how she defined her person over the years. It’s definitely a challenge for her.”
