Consensus five-star guard Terrence Clarke committed to Kentucky on Saturday and will reclassify to the Class of 2020.
Clarke picked the Wildcats over Boston College, Duke, Memphis, Texas Tech, UCLA and others.
A Boston native, Clarke ranks fourth overall among 2020 prospects and is the top shooting guard in the country, according to 247Sports.
Clarke plays for Boston’s Brewster Academy and also Expressions Elite in the Nike EYBL circuit. Listed at 6-foot-7 and 185 pounds, Clarke averaged 16.2 points per game over 18 games between the EYBL circuit and the Peach Jam earlier this year.
With Clarke’s commitment, Kentucky solidifies its position as the No. 1 recruiting class for 2020. Five-star B.J. Boston and four-stars Lance Ware and Cam’Ron Fletcher round out the Wildcats’ newcomers. Fellow five-star recruits Jalen Green and Joshua Christopher are now almost certainly off the board for Kentucky with the addition of Clarke.
Barring any substantial changes, John Calipari will have his 13th consecutive top-3 recruiting class in college basketball.
