PAUL POGBA will miss Manchester United's final pre-season friendly because of a back spasm.
The Manchester United midfielder travelled to Cardiff but will not be in the squad to face AC Milan after tweaking his back in training.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reckons the midfielder will be back "early next week" – giving him more than enough time to be ready for the Premier League opener against Chelsea on August 11.
Pogba missed a training session last week and was unable to start against Kristiansund because of the same injury.
Solskjaer said: "At the end of the session today, Paul got a back spasm, the same issue he had last week when he missed the session in Norway.
"But I think he’ll be available early next week."
Pogba will miss the game along with Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian and Joel Pereira.
None of those four players travelled with the rest of the United squad on Wednesday.
"We have a few players back at the Aon Training Complex," Solskjaer added.
"Joel Pereira tweaked his back last week so he's back there training, Romelu and Alexis are working on their fitness with Matteo Darmian.
"Eric [Bailly] obviously is injured and out until Christmas time."
Lukaku has not played in any pre-season matches this summer as he continues to be linked with a move to Juventus or Inter Milan.
