Leicester set to replace Chelsea-bound Wesley Fofana with Reims defender Wout Faes as Foxes close in on £17m transfer | The Sun

LEICESTER have already reportedly found a replacement for Chelsea-bound Wesley Fofana in Reims defender Wout Faes.

Fofana's on the brink of sealing a £70million plus add-ons move to Stamford Bridge.

He's been sent to the US by Chelsea to complete his medical as Blues owner Todd Boehly has concerns about the French ace's injury record.

And if his medical goes through successfully, the French ace will be unveiled as a Blues player before the transfer window closes.

But the Foxes are already planning for life without Fofana who they were initially reluctant to sell.

Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers was adamant that Fofana would be staying put despite the defender's repeated pleas to let him leave.

However, Leicester and Rodgers relented when it became clear they needed the cash to revamp their depleted squad.

And the Mail claim that the first thing Leicester plan to do is bring in Faes from Reims for £15m – a fraction of the fee they'll receive for Fofana.

This will allow Rodgers to use the rest of the money to replenish other areas of his squad.

Faes' transfer to the Foxes should be completed soon as Leicester Mercury reckon he's agreed a five-year deal with the Premier League outfit.

The 24-year-old already has a relationship with Foxes star Youri Tielemans who he spent five years playing alongside at Anderlecht between 2012-2017.

Foxes fans can expect big things from Faes, who was named Reims' Player of the Season last season after a solid 37 appearances.
