Declan Rice transfer news odds: Arsenal favourites but Bayern Munich could swoop for £100m West Ham star, Man Utd 11/2 | The Sun

ARSENAL are leading contenders to sign West Ham midfielder Declan Rice after a major shift in the betting markets.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've SLASHED Mikel Arteta's side from 6/4 to odds-on 4/6 to clinch Rice's signature before the summer transfer window closes in September.

Manchester United are second-favourites at 11/2, and it's revealing to see that an extended stay at West Ham is well behind the leading pack at 9/1.

Chelsea are available at 6/1, with Liverpool and Newcastle offered at 10/1 and 11/1 respectively to sign the England international.

But the side making waves in the market are Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, now managed by Thomas Tuchel.

Sky Germany claim Rice is one of Bayern's top targets in the upcoming transfer window, and are prepared to meet West Ham's eye-watering demands.

Manchester City are a double-figure 12/1 but certainly have the financial muscle to challenge for Rice's services.

European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are locked together at 25/1, while Tottenham are the outsiders of the pack at 50/1.

Rice has made 243 appearances for West Ham since making his full senior debut in August 2017, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists.

During that period the 24-year-old has earned 41 England caps, reached the Euro 2020 final with the Three Lions and twice won West Ham's Player of the Year award.

  • Newcastle – 10/1

  • PSG – 25/1
  • Real Madrid – 25/1
  • Tottenham – 50/1

But his time with the Hammers looks to be up with Rice eyeing Champions League football and silverware.

Rice's contract expires in the summer of 2024 and there is an option to extend by a further year. However, has rejected three contract offers and has no desire to sign a new deal.

New reports claim West Ham are open to selling Rice this summer, but are demanding a fee of around £100million to green-light a sale.

West Ham would also accept £100m plus a player for the midfielder, and Sky Sports claim there have already been enquiries.

Arsenal will have increased funds to improve the squad this summer, and their Champions League qualification will no doubt boost their attractiveness.

The same could be said of Newcastle, who have officially clinched Champions League football themselves and are reportedly targeting England trio Rice, James Maddison and Ivan Toney.

However, some believe that West Ham's valuation will make it incredibly difficult for Rice to leave the London Stadium, and Gary Neville believes he's only worth half of the price tag.

He said: "I love Declan Rice. I personally feel, at this moment in time, that Declan needs to go and work under a different set-up.

"But, for me, I wouldn't be spending £110m or £120m on Rice if I was Manchester United this summer. I would spend £50m-£60m on Declan Rice, but I wouldn't spend the figures being reported."
